Privacy Awareness Week, 12th-18th May, 2019

Information Proficiency is a proud supporter of Privacy Awareness Week 2019.

Over the past year, in Australia and around the world, privacy has come into sharper focus as one of the top priorities for organisations and the public alike.

Our personal information is a critical input to the economy and government agencies, and we are seeing heightened awareness of privacy issues as organisations and agencies face increasingly complex data protection challenges.

Privacy Awareness Week is an annual event that highlights the importance of protecting personal information, and helps organisations, agencies and the public navigate the privacy landscape.

For organisations and agencies, it’s a reminder to review privacy practices and policies and educate their staff about information handling obligations.

For the public, it’s an opportunity to share information and practical tips that empower people to take control of their personal information.

Our central message is “Don’t be in the Dark on Privacy”, and over the course of the week we will explore a series of privacy priorities including Data Breaches, Online Security, Your Credit, Health Information and Your Data.

16 Days in WA - 2018

Information Proficiency whole heartedly supports 16 Days in WA. The following information and resources comes from the Government of WA, Department of Communities:

The 16 Days in WA to Stop Violence Against Women campaign will take place from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, to 10 December, which is Human Rights Day.

Based on the international 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, 16 Days in WA is Western Australia’s contribution to these efforts and aims to raise awareness, motivate positive actions across Western Australia, and advocate on behalf of organisations that are opposing violence against women.

You are invited to make your mark during the 16 Days in WA campaign – to educate, motivate and advocate in your community, and stand up to stop violence against women.

We all have a role to play in changing the conversation that allows violence against women to go unchallenged.

Together we can stop violence against women.

Although we didn't take out the top awards, we did make it as a finalist, representing the highest achievers in Australian business, that is a truly amazing result.

Information Proficiency is made up of an incredible team of professionals who make us the company we are.  We all work hard each day to produce the best results possible and it really humbles us to see each team member treat the company as their own.

We absolutely couldn't be the company we are without our dedicated crew.  This award is for the entire team.
